Historical Records

In ancient times, "Frankincense" was as precious as gold, and the ancient Egyptians knew early on to use "Frankincense" to make face masks to keep themselves young. The Bible records that the Three Wise Men from the East chose "Frankincense" as a gift and gave it to the newly born Jesus, representing their respect and piety for him, so "Frankincense" is also called "Tears of Christ." At that time, people believed that God lived in heaven, and if they wanted to convey their thoughts to heaven, they had to use incense. When precious "Frankincense" burned, it was like sending people's thoughts to heaven.

In the Middle East and North African civilisations, "Frankincense" was also the preferred essential oil of all religions: Egypt, Islam, and Christianity all have legends about using "Frankincense" to offer to gods and expel evil spirits. This aromatic resin was in great demand in ancient times and was widely used in religious ceremonies, funerals, and people's daily celebrations.

The highest quality "Frankincense" in the world is called "Silver Incense," which is produced in the Neged Plateau. In 450 BC, the famous Greek historian Herodotus mentioned "Frankincense" in his masterpiece "History": "The entire country is filled with a wonderful sweet fragrance."

"Frankincense" has many other names, such as "Pearl of the Desert," "White Gold," and the aforementioned "Tears of Christ," among others. In ancient times, the value of "Frankincense" was equivalent to gold, and it was also one of the symbols of rulers' power and wealth.
