Blue Tansy: the Soothing Royal Blue

Blue Tansy, also known as Moroccan chamomile or Tanacetum annuum, is a plant native to Morocco, Portugal, and Spain. It is a member of the Asteraceae family and is known for its striking blue colour. The Blue Tansy plant itself is not blue, but it does contain a constituent called matricin. Through the process of steam-distillation, matricin is bio-synthetised into chamazulene, a type of sesquiterpene and an amazing constituent, known mostly for its ability to support healthy inflammatory response, including for the brain. Chamazulene does not exist in the fresh plant materials.
